Bihar Swastha Vibhag State Health Society (SHSB) has announced the recruitment of Ophthalmic Assistant (Netra Sahayak). The online application will start from 14 August 2025 and will remain open till 28 August 2025. A total of 220 vacancies are available. Applicants must be between 21 and 42 years of age (as per category) as on 1 August 2025. Eligible male and female candidates can apply online.

• Maximum Age: 42 Years (Male / Female – SC / ST)
• Bihar SHSB provides age relaxation as per rules.

Eligibility

• Candidates must have passed I.Sc. (Biology or Mathematics) OR 10+2 with Biology or Mathematics
• A 2-Year Diploma in Optometry, OR
• 2 Years of training as an Ophthalmic Assistant at any recognized Government Hospital as per NPCB (National Programme for Control of Blindness) guidelines, OR
• Candidates must have passed I.Sc. (Biology or Mathematics) OR 10+2 with Biology or Mathematics AND hold a 2-Year Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant from a Government, Private, or Semi-Government Institute recognized by the Government of Bihar.
